Grill in the Rain!?!
My friend John down the street asked me over to BBQ last night. Bottle of wine in hand, I walked over and to my surprise, he had a cool little Japanese grill called the UCHICOOK.
I was super impressed with the stove top grill. Not only did he cook a mouthwatering meal, he was up on what’s new and hot. In fact, this grill was so amazing, I immediately went home, logged on to Amazon and bought one for myself and one for my mother.
Guys, if you don’t know how to cook, LEARN! Or, at least learn how to make one or two dishes that rock. There is something very sexy about a guy who can cook. Girls always talk about it when their guy cooks for them. It’s very special.
Even though this wasn’t a date, it was a great evening that could lead to a date. Having fun with a girl, with no expectations, opens doors.
Personally, staying home, cooking, and having a few glasses of wine with good conversation is one of my top 3 favorite things to do on a date.
Below is a great recipe for Salmon, asparagus and rice. An easy meal that would make any girl happy – unless they don’t eat fish of course.
- Rub with olive oil
- Top with some crushed garlic
- Ground salt and pepper
- drizzle with teriyaki sauce ( Freddie’s Fabulous is my favorite)
- Grill until done.
*Serve with sliced lemon
- Break off bottom stem mid-way
- Put in shallow pan with salt- boil until done
- Drain – make sure you don’t over cook
*Add butter if desired
Rice (my favorite is white basmati)
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup rice
- Put in pan with 1 tbsp salt
- Boil – simmer – stir and watch until water is done – keep covered let sit.
*Add butter and salt to taste if desired
Sorbet is a nice light choice – try raspberry and if you really want to impress her, put a piece of dark chocolate in it.
